Freeze Statement

1. Purpose

This Freeze Statement formally defines the scope and boundaries of the Abhiprayavedi Version 1.0 release.

It identifies the components that constitute the released system and establishes the policy governing modifications following the declaration of Version 1.0.

The purpose of this document is to preserve the integrity of the Version 1.0 release while providing a stable foundation for future development.

2. Effective Date

This Freeze Statement becomes effective upon the formal release declaration of Abhiprayavedi Version 1.0.

From that point onwards, Version 1.0 shall be regarded as the baseline release of the platform.

3. Scope of the Freeze

The Version 1.0 freeze applies to all production components that define the behaviour, appearance, workflows, and administration of the released system.

The freeze includes both implementation artefacts and their associated documentation.

4. Frozen Architectural Principles

The following architectural principles are established as part of Version 1.0.* Separation of reader and editorial interfaces.

• Separation of content and presentation.
• Guided publishing through structured forms.
• Template-based page generation.
• Modular CSS organisation.
• Controlled editorial workflow.
• Namespace-based content organisation.
• Reusable presentation components.
• Maintainable system architecture.

These principles define the architectural identity of Version 1.0.

5. Frozen Components

The following categories of components form part of the Version 1.0 release.

5.1 Templates

All production templates used in Version 1.0 are frozen.

This includes article templates, presentation templates, navigation templates, author templates, category templates, and supporting templates.

5.2 Forms

All production Page Forms used by Version 1.0 are frozen.

This includes Form:Article and associated publishing workflows.

5.3 Stylesheets

All production stylesheets are frozen.

This includes:* TemplateStyles

• Common.css
• Other production CSS supporting Version 1.0

5.4 JavaScript

All production JavaScript supporting Version 1.0 workflows and user interfaces is frozen.

This includes Common.js and other production interface scripts.

5.5 Editorial Workflow

The editorial workflow established in Version 1.0 is frozen.

This includes:* Editorial Access

• Editorial Dashboard
• Draft workflow
• Submission workflow
• Editorial review
• Publication workflow

5.6 Reader Interface

The public reader interface is frozen.

This includes:* Article presentation

• Category presentation
• Navigation
• Responsive layouts
• Reader-facing interface elements

5.7 Administrative Configuration

The production configuration supporting Version 1.0 forms part of the frozen release.

Configuration details are recorded in the System Administrator's Manual.

6. Protection Policy

Production implementation pages forming part of Version 1.0 should be protected to permit editing only by administrators.

Protection applies to all components whose modification would alter the released behaviour of the system.

7. Frozen Components Register

A Version 1.0 Frozen Components Register shall be maintained as the authoritative inventory of protected implementation artefacts.

The register should identify:* component name;

• component type;
• production location;
• protection status; and
• administrative notes.

The register forms part of the permanent Version 1.0 engineering record.

8. Permitted Changes

Following the release of Version 1.0, only the following categories of changes are permitted within the Version 1.0 branch:* security updates;

• critical bug fixes;
• data integrity corrections;
• compatibility fixes required for supported software platforms; and
• documentation corrections that improve clarity without altering the historical record.

9. Deferred Enhancements

New functionality, workflow improvements, architectural revisions, interface redesigns, and feature enhancements shall not be incorporated into Version 1.0.

Such work shall be planned, documented, and implemented as part of subsequent versions of Abhiprayavedi.

Deferred items are recorded in the Audit Register and the post-Version 1 roadmap.

10. Documentation Freeze

The Version 1.0 documentation library forms part of the release.

Once approved, each document should be protected to preserve the historical record of the Version 1.0 release.

Subsequent editions of the documentation shall extend the documentation library without altering the historical accuracy of Version 1.0.

11. Conclusion

The Version 1.0 Freeze establishes a stable and authoritative baseline for the Abhiprayavedi platform.

Future development shall build upon this foundation while preserving the integrity of the Version 1.0 engineering record.
